You can use your own picture or video as the background behind you in Airtime Camera. Add it as a wallpaper in your look, not as a Visual. Your video app, for example Microsoft Teams, Zoom or Google Meet, then shows you in front of your picture.
Wallpaper or Visual: what is the difference?
- Wallpaper goes behind you. Use it as your virtual background.
- Visual shows on top of your video. A picture Visual fills the frame and hides you. It does not go behind you.
If you uploaded your picture as a Visual and now you cannot see yourself, click the active Visual again to remove it. Then add the picture as a wallpaper.
Add your own image as a wallpaper
- Click the Looks tab and select your look.
- Click Edit.
- In Background, select Hidden. This hides your real background so that the wallpaper shows behind you.
- Click Wallpaper.
- In the list of wallpapers that opens, click the upload button (↑) at the top, then select your image or video file.
- Click Save.
If you do not see the upload button (↑), this look does not support custom wallpapers. Select a different look and try again.
Your background still does not show in Microsoft Teams
Teams can apply its own background or blur on top of the Airtime camera. This hides or changes your Airtime wallpaper. In Teams, open Effects and avatars and select None under both Backgrounds and Filters. Then turn off Adjust brightness. Set your background in Airtime Camera instead. For all look settings, see Add and customize your look in Airtime Camera.
