Airtime for Teams (Monthly): Why am I billed on the day my subscription is cancelled?

If you saw a charge on the date you cancelled your monthly Airtime for Teams subscription, don’t worry; this is expected behavior under our post-paid billing model.

Note: The information on this page does not apply to personal subscriptions or yearly Teams subscriptions. It only applies to monthly Teams plans.

How the billing cycle works

Our monthly Teams plan operates on a post-paid basis except for the very first payment. This means that each payment covers the previous month’s usage, not the upcoming one.

For example:

  • You signed up for the monthly Teams plan on March 4.
  • The first payment made on March 4 covered the initial billing period (March 4 - April 4).
    • Exception: If any new users were added to your team before April 4, an additional charge for those users would be collected on April 4.
  • Starting with the next cycle, payments were collected after each billing period.
    • The April 4 - May 4 period was billed on May 4
    • The May 4 - June 4 period was billed on June 4, and so on.

Why you saw a charge at cancellation

The charge you saw on your cancellation date was for the previous billing period. For instance, if your subscription ended on September 4, that payment covered your usage from August 4 to September 4. Once the plan is cancelled, no further charges will be made.
